Entirely free conversations

Not everything you send is paid for.

Meta allows three free windows. Design your flows around them and you can lower the bill noticeably.

Replying to a customer · free

Every message you send inside a 24-hour window from the customer’s message to you is entirely free. Meta removed the service charge in November 2024.

A free ads window · 72 hours

A customer clicked a CTM ad or the WhatsApp button on Facebook or Instagram? Every message you send them for 72 hours is free — marketing, utility, all of it.

Free utility inside the service window

Some utility templates you send in reply to a customer’s message are free. The detail varies with the template type and when it is sent.

Frequently asked

Everything you need to know about the pricing.

Does SAEI take a commission on messages?

No. Meta’s fees are charged at their official rate exactly as they are, and the whole amount goes to Meta. SAEI applies a 0% margin to those fees.

Why is replying to a customer free?

Since 1 November 2024 Meta has removed the charge for service messages. Any reply you send inside the 24-hour window after the customer’s message is entirely free.

What does a marketing message to a Saudi customer cost?

Under Meta’s schedule effective 1 April 2026: SAR 0.1877 per message in the Saudi market. Enter your message volume in the calculator above to see a detailed monthly cost.

What is the difference between Authentication and Authentication-International?

Authentication is the ordinary price for verification messages (OTP) in the market the number is resident in. Authentication-International applies in certain markets when an OTP is sent to a number in one of them — the price is higher because Meta passes on an additional operational cost.

Do I need to pay Meta’s fees directly?

Yes. Meta bills you for them through your own WhatsApp Business account. SAEI manages your account and provides the integration, but neither adds to nor deducts from Meta’s bill.

Are there free conversations?

Yes. (1) Every service message is free. (2) When a customer starts a conversation from a CTM ad or the WhatsApp button on Facebook or Instagram, you get a free 72-hour window. (3) Inside the 24-hour window from the customer’s message, free utility messages are available in some cases.
