This guide covers the three conditions as they are, why meeting them together stalls, how to order your sending so all three hold without risking your quality, and what does not speed the upgrade whatever you do.

The three conditions

There is no fourth, and all three are measured over a rolling period rather than on a single day:

  • Starting conversations with enough unique customers — unique, not repeated.
  • A quality rating of high or medium — not low.
  • Being settled on your current tier for long enough — not having just arrived on it.

Why meeting them together stalls

SituationWhat it looks like to the senderThe condition actually missing
I send a lot and nothing changesHigh volume, static limitToo few unique customers — the same list repeating
I widened the list and the rating fellThe first condition met, the second lostQuality — the expansion outran what the list could carry
Everything looks right and no upgradeHigh rating, plenty of unique customersSettling — the current tier is still new to you

How to order your sending

  1. 1.Widen the list rather than the repetition
One new customer does more for the condition than ten messages to an existing one.
  2. 2.Raise volume in stages, not in a batch
A sudden jump is what drops the rating, and the second condition goes with it.
  3. 3.Begin every expansion with your most engaged segment
People who open and reply protect your rating while the unique count grows.
  4. 4.Watch the rating daily while expanding
A drop to medium is a warning, and correcting there is cheaper than correcting after.
  5. 5.Let the tier settle before pushing again
The third condition is time rather than action, and trying to rush it costs you the second.

What does not speed it up

Three things everybody tries that do nothing:

  • Messaging support to ask for an upgrade — there is no request path and the decision is automatic.
  • Buying a list to raise the unique count — it raises the number and drops the rating, trading one condition for another.
  • Switching numbers to start fresh — it returns you to the first tier with no history.

And what about verification?

Verification is a separate path that opens the higher tiers regardless of these conditions, and it is the faster route for anyone who can take it. It is covered in the business verification guide, and the tiers themselves in the messaging limits guide.

Frequently asked questions

How long does it take?

There is no published period. The upgrade happens when the three conditions hold together over a rolling window, so the duration follows your behaviour rather than a fixed calendar.

Can I request an upgrade?

There is no request path. The decision is automatic and built on the conditions, and messaging support does not speed it.

Do my replies to customers count?

The condition measures conversations you start. Replies inside the follow-up window do not count towards it — but they help your rating, which is the second condition.

My tier dropped after rising. Why?

A tier falls as it climbs, and the leading cause is a falling quality rating. Review the list and the content before pushing volume again.

Does verification replace the conditions?

Verification is an independent path that opens the higher tiers and is faster in practice. The conditions remain the route for anyone not yet verified.

Where do I see my current tier?

In Meta’s business tools on the number’s page, and in the SAEI console alongside the quality rating — so you watch the two conditions you control in one place.
